Launch of the S&T Clusters Annual Report 2025–26
The Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India
launched the Science & Technology (S&T) Clusters Annual Report 2025–26 on 13 August 2026 under the chairmanship of Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India. The launch was attended by Dr (Mrs.) Parvinder Maini, Scientific Secretary; Dr.Vishal Choudhary, Scientist-F; Dr. Santhosh S. Nair, Scientist-D; Dr. Shefali Uttam, Technical Staff, Office of the PSA; along with the CEOs, COOs, and Principal Investigators of the eight S&T Clusters established under the Office of the PSA.
During the meeting, Prof. Sood underscored the importance of strengthening inter-cluster collaboration, deepening industry engagement, and accelerating technology translation. He emphasised the need to adapt and scale successful regional innovations while measuring impact through higher Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), real-world validation, commercialisation, and tangible societal & economic outcomes.
Dr. Maini highlighted the growing maturity of the S&T Clusters through their consortium-based model and stressed the importance of aligning efforts with national priorities. She also emphasised greater industry participation in technology validation, adoption, and market translation.
The Annual Report reflects the evolution of the S&T Clusters into vibrant regional innovation ecosystems and emerging “National Technology Accelerators.” It showcases several technologies that have progressed from ideation to deployment and commercialisation.
The Report further highlights how inter-cluster collaboration is enabling successful innovations to be replicated and scaled across regions. It also documents expanding international partnerships in hashtag#healthcare, hashtag#advancedmanufacturing, hashtag#smartagriculture, hashtag#sustainablemobility, hashtag#climateresilience, and hashtag#emergingtechnologies.
Notable collaborations with the The University of Western Australia, the India-Australia Smart Farm Network, and the UK Catapult Network are strengthening the global reach and impact of India’s S&T Cluster ecosystem.
