Building Synergies with Industry for Advancing Molecular Diagnostics

Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster Foundation (BCKIC) is delighted to announce the Establishment and inauguration of the “Centre for Innovation in Molecular Diagnostics” at KIIT-Technology Business Incubator(KIIT-TBI), with the financial support of Thermo Fisher Scientific and in collaboration with KIIT-TBI.

This state-of-the-art facility aims to build capacity in molecular diagnostics, foster groundbreaking research, and empower startups and researchers in the region. A brilliant example of industry academia  collaboration, the Centre will drive innovation and strengthen the region’s research ecosystem. The inauguration was graced by Dr. Srinath Venkatesh, MD, Thermo Fisher Scientific, India & South Asia, Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, KIIT – Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, and Mr. JayaBharath Reddy, General Manager, BID, Thermo Fisher Scientific. To celebrate the occasion, a “Flow Cytometry Capacity-Building Workshop” was organized, attracting 70+ participants, including researchers, clinicians, startups, and innovators.

A vibrant poster presentation competition saw enthusiastic participation from scholars of BRIC-ILS, KIIT School of Biotechnology, NISER, Centurion University, KIMS Bhubaneswar, and startup representatives from Exsure Pvt. Ltd., PROCYTO LABS PVT. LTD., and Biopioneer. This initiative marks a significant milestone in a collaborative ecosystem, uniting faculty scientists, clinicians, startups, and researchers to drive high-end research and innovation in molecular diagnostics.
