Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster Foundation organized the “UK-India Strategic Trade Workshop on Strengthening Millets Value Chains”, in partnership with UKRI India–STFC Food Network+ (SFN) , the University of York, and the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India.
With over 50 participants, this workshop was a hub of innovative ideas and an opportunity for collaboration, aiming to position Odisha as a global leader in sustainable millet value chains.
The Inaugural Session featured esteemed guests, including, Prof Kiran Trehan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Partnerships and Engagement, University of York, Mr Geoff McBride from UK, and Prof. Prof Sonal Choudhary from University of York, UK.
The workshop delved into key topics such as Product Value Addition, Millet Biofortification, and Market Development, with industry leaders and experts sharing insights. The discussions on Institutional Innovations & Support Mechanisms provided a strong foundation for enhancing the millet value chain through community-based models, CSR initiatives, and international cooperation.
The event concluded with an exciting “Start-Up Showcase”, where agri-tech entrepreneurs presented their innovative products, including delicious millet-based offerings that left everyone eager for more.
